Toe Nail Care

Taking care of your dog's nails whether it be a greyhound or other breed is important to the health of their feet and their general well-being. When dogs have toenails that are too long, they put excessive pressure on the toe joints and force the toes in positions that will cause more wear and tear on the toe and the leg. Whether or not your dog likes it or not, having its toenails routinely clipped will help your dog stay healthy. Photographs show a greyhound with excessively long nails, to the point where they are detrimental to the dog's health. One of the photos shows actual toe nail issues that probably need medical attention aside from the excessive length. A 1/4 inch is a lot of toenail to clip, obviously a full inch is just much too much, as shown in the photographs.
